[source: Blackaddr @ xboxhacker.org] There seems to be a lot of confusion about exactly how the RGH works, and what clocks are involved, etc. Here is a brief technical summary that elaborates on the information provided already by Gligli and Tiros. This will focus on the hardware side, not the bootloader modifications.

[source: bunnie @ jailbreakingisnotacrime.org] You bought it. You own it. Tell the Copyright Office: let me install whatever software I want on my phone, tablet, or video game system. bunnie Huang, author of Hacking the Xbox, is standing with the Electronic Frontier Foundation to defend users' right to jailbreak. Will you sign on to bunnie's letter to show the Copyright Office that users everywhere are demanding the right to jailbreak?

We are well-aware of how very many of you, our faithful fans, have been waiting for months for this announcement, so - with no further ado, we are excited to unveil the newest addition to our GreenPois0n toolkit. This release should come as no surprise to those of you who have been following pod2g’s iOS blog for the past few months. Earlier this week, you might have even wet your pants a little when you watched the video demonstration of today’s release (named Absinthe A5) and first witnessed our jailbreak working its magic to liberate both the iPhone 4S & iPad 2.'"

[source: streetskaterfu.blogspot.com] Ok guys we tested the possibilities on firmware 1.52 for a few days now. What I can confirm is the following: Tech4's exploit still works. Wololo's HBL still works. Everything I research atm didn't change from 1.50 to 1.52. If that is fine for you, there's no reason not to update.

[source: kakaroto.homelinux.net] Here's a "quick" status update on the 4.00 HEN (Homebrew ENabler) for PS3. Following my clarifications from almost 2 months ago here, there has been a lot of progress. We have not been slacking off, we’re a group of about 10 developers working together for the last 2 months, for sometimes 15 hours everyday in order to bring back homebrew support to the latest version of the PS3. There are three major parts to the HEN, first, getting the packages to install on the PS3, that part is done, completed, tested, debugged, etc.. the second part is to get the apps to run, that one still has major issues… the last part is something I will not discuss for now (it’s a surprise) but it’s about 60% to 70% done (and it has nothing to do with peek&poke and has nothing to do with backup managers or anything like that. This is and will stay a piracy-free solution for the PS3).

[source: infinitymod.com] The tutorial, the fine tuning software and the first reviews for the Matrix Glitcher 2 are now available in the Download section of our website. Feel free to deep test the software and forward us any comment and suggestion to improve it. We have some more cool news coming next week so, stay tuned! :)
Note: You need separate programmer hardware to run the fine tuning software. For those who want to test it now, use the programmer included with Matrix Freedom PCB.

modrobert writes: "Deank, author of the multiMAN project for PS3, has edited out the official forum thread with multiMAN releases over at ps3hax.net and replaced it with this brief message; 'mutliMAN is a ... lot of things'. This happened shortly after Team Cobra released mmCM v04.00.00 (MultiMan Cobra Manager) which can now be used without the Cobra USB dongle for the first time. I don't really know if the events are related, but it seems that way. The official release thread has been at multiMAN v02.09.02 since October 2011. If you want to download the latest official release or older ones, check EurAsia download section with this search. The source code is available there as well. Please post comment if you have more info regarding this."

[source: streetskaterfu.blogspot.com ] I just noticed the first update of the PS VITA game "Ridge Racer" is online and did some research on the new update system. It is a bit upgraded but basicly the same as on PS3. Once a game tab is opened, the VITA downloads a PKG for this game tab. This includes update information, such as if an update if available. If thats the case, the game tab will show you a yellow arrow on the top of the screen which gives you information about the update available.

[source: wasabi360.com] From the team that brought you the intuitive and immensely popular "virtual ISO" on-screen menu system for Xbox 360 optical disc drive emulators comes yet another world first - fully integrated, automatic drive key extraction. With Wasabi 360 Ultra there is no need for expensive third party drive key extraction hardware: with a single press of a button on the Wasabi 360 control panel, the drive key is automatically extracted from your original ODD and saved to Wasabi 360 Ultra's onboard storage for future use. And that's all you need to do - the previously saved drive key is retrieved and used automatically on each subsequent Xbox 360 boot. Simply plug and play - easy, fast, safe and convenient.

[source: wololo.net] Japanese site emuonpsp reported today that a combination of keys was found in the settings menu to display some hidden information about the firmware installed on your Playstation vita. This menu contains information about the system build, repository, revision,… doesn’t look like it’s super useful information for now, but still interesting I guess.

[source: wololo.net] A few days ago we discovered that it is compulsory to be connected to the internet in order to use the Content Manager Assistant. Although I found out later that this tool is not necessary for media files, it is still compulsory to use it if you want to copy games and savedata from and to your PS Vita. Having to be connected to the internet while you copy files between two pieces of hardware you own is inconvenient, unsafe, and technically not necessary. It is therefore an unnecessary “feature” of the Content Manager Assistant that was put here by Sony for no other good reason than force people to update their console to the latest firmware on a regular basis.
Note: Download here.

[source: wololo.net] A year and a half ago when I got Doom for PSP to run on the PSP Go, website hackaday noticed it and said "[being able to run Doom is] a prerequisite for any cracked device". Some people try to run Linux on their hardware at all cost, I prefer Doom. Today I was able to tweak HBL a bit on the PS Vita to get Doom to run on it. Will I get hackaday’s attention this time too? :) That’s, hands down, the best fps available on the vita so far, check the video!

[source: SKFU @ streetskaterfu.blogspot.com] Since I finally have access to a retail PS VITA, today I started with some basic tests. After a complete freeze of the system within the first 5 minutes after unboxing (*always happens to new consoles 4 me rofl*), I went on and noticed that there is a problem with the VITA's encryption functions and was able to decrypt some test files directly via the system. I will post updates as soon as I have news. :)

[source: xk3y.com] Seasons Greetings from the xk3y Team. Firmware v1.12 without language restrictions! When xk3y was first launched we produced an OEM version for one of our Chinese partners. This version was locked down to a few Asian language to promote sales in Asia and discourage resellers to export the OEM version to other regions. Sadly, some unscrupulous resellers still sold the OEM version to other regions, leaving end users with xk3y devices that would only display Asian languages on the remote.

[source: c4evaspeaks.com] With the final testing stage of BenQ and phat Lite-On underway in preparation for the scheduled Christmas Eve release of c4eva’s iXtreme LT+ v3.0, we thought we’d drop some additional bits of info into your Stockings in the form of answers to some recent questions. Version 3.0 of iXtreme LT+ for BenQ and Lite-On (both phat and slim) does in fact retain support for truncated backups, although it is strongly recommended to use full burns made with a compatible Lite-On iHAS drive flashed with the iXtreme Burner MAX fw. Support for truncated backups, however, remains excluded from Hitachi in its forthcoming 3.0 version.
