Hello,
I know that there are settings in the PS4-menu to deactivate the download and installation of any updates. But now it looks like that this just counts for what the PS4 is doing in rest mode.

As I said, even though it's disabled the console has installed every update so far. Just fear that one day any exploit will be published and directly fixed over night.
Of course it's possible to just unplug it from the internet but as I still use some other online features and I'd like to know if there is any way to block the ports or IP addresses through my router that are related to the ps4 system software.

Thank you very much
Fabian

Here is a list of IP addresses you can block in the router/firewall, they seem to change over time, so not an ideal solution.

203.77.188.253
203.77.188.254
210.86.141.81
210.86.141.75

I got the IP addresses by resolving these:
dus01.ps4.update.playstation.net
deu01.ps4.update.playstation.net
djp01.ps4.update.playstation.net

There might be a problem accessing PSN/SEN after blocking these though, if they happen to use the same server for authentication, also game specific updates etc.

Hi,

thank you so much. I think from those IP addresses i can also define an IP range to be blocked.

Hi, as this still seems to be an issue for many people and some might stumble across this, here's an update of addresses to block with your router in order to prevent the PS4 to look for updates:
