You can now flash the corresponding ECC file to the console NAND flash and use a glitcher to retrieve the CPU key instead, no additional hardware needed. Team Xecuter's rather humorous response to the release is to repurpose the expensive DGX hardware as a high performance glitcher. Thanks goes to pulz for the heads up. Read on for DGX R.I.P. release info..."

[source: team-xecuter.com via 360crunch.net] Xecuter has a new hardware based hack for homebrew. So far we are booting Xell on Zephyr, Falcon, Jasper pretty much instantly. All dashboard versions - in fact it is required to update to the latest version anyway. No freezing. No messing about. No headaches. No shit. It's a totally new approach. It is no longer RGH or RGH2...more will be revealed, but those that have a clue will be impressed.

- Official release of the iXtreme LT+ v3.0 for Hitachi 78 and 79 drives
- Support for topology data on AP25 enabled titles. Will correctly answer any ap25 challenge eliminating need for dae.bin to create a backup.
- No need to make new backups everytime dae.bin is updated on console
- Use current JF to upgrade from 2.0 to 3.0 (3.0 as Target firmware) using free flash (Ctrl F8) until an updated version of Jungleflasher is released.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. LT Ultimate & The LT Ultimate PCB is next!
Thanks go to Team Jungle and all testers for their hard work and efforts in the development process.
Thanks also go to Team Xecuter for their support to this project.

Besides Lite-On burners, this include support for many other brands like ASUS, Samsung, Pioneer, both via SATA and USB. I'm just speculating here, but it looks like C4E uses ATA commands to patch burner RAM to change the media size of the inserted disc, after eject the patches are gone. Impressive work!"

[source: infinitymod.com] Matrix Freedom Light for 16D4S, and coming Matrix Freedom 1175 board replacement for 16D5S. Regarding the 16D5S drives, we are inching to the end of the testing and engineering road. There has been a bunch of issues that needed to be taken care of, now all of this seems solved and we are ready to proceed to the final prototype and testing of the board and the key extractor system. Secondly, due to huge request, we are manufacturing some cheaper 16D4S replacement boards, renamed Freedom Light. The Freedom Light does not have the tray cable fixed on board, but it comes with the double option to solder the cable directly on board of the Freedom Light or to use the optional solder less kit. Installers will be free to solder the cable as we know they prefer to do so, while end user can use the solder less kit to install without need of soldering tools.

It was good timing anyway as there have also been lot's of changes within the Xecuter operation. We'll soon be saying farewell to one of our pioneering founder members, but will be saying hello to a new and improved Team Xecuter. It's in safe hands, more will be announced very soon.

[source: wasabi360.com] We have released Wasabi 360 Ultra firmware v1.3 BETA 2 which includes the following changes:
* Multi disc support for the DVDMenu system.
* Fix the missing last 4 digits ODD key "16D4S drives" from WASABI display information.
Slim Hitachi drives and Lite-On 16D5S drives are supported by Wasabi360S providing that you have the drive key. The drive key for these models cannot currently be extracted automatically and can be obtained through using the RGH mod. There are many tutorials on the web detailing how to extract drive keys using the RGH mods.
We are currently researching support for HDD's with 1024 bytes sector size. This will be supported in a future release.
The Wasabi 360 Ultra users guide has been updated to reflect the changes in this firmware release. Both may be obtained from the downloads page.

They also posted info and a demo of the upcoming LT Ultimate in action, a DVD drive replacement board previously marketed as 'The Lord of the Hacks'. [source: c4evaspeaks.com] After a record-setting 10 updates in the Public Beta program, and an almost 3-month stretch, Microsoft has today begun rolling out the final official production release of the Fall 2012 Xbox LIVE Update. The final release remains the same version number as the last beta update (meaning there have been no further changes to it), with the dashboard/kernel sitting at 2.0.16197.0. As with many of the previous SystemUpdates, this one is being deployed in a staggered fashion, meaning some subscribers and regions will receive it first, and the rest in waves over the next few days or weeks. During the course of the program, each of the 10 beta updates were tested with c4eva's LT+ offline and on Xbox LIVE, as well as with xk3y, so with the final release being the same version, we can happily re-report that they are both working fine with backups. Such being the case, there is no urgent rush for c4eva to analyze the update, though he may still opt to generate a LIVE log for it at some point in the days ahead.

[source: homebrew-connection.org] A member of the Team Xecuter forum, posted today two pics from a corona console manufactured in 08/2012. This console contain a Liteon 16D5S drive with a new Firmware Version 1532, but most important is the new chip on the nand spot. Seems to be a new eMMC version from samsung this time (the previous one was from phison and only on 4GB console). We don’t know yet if the console was from a 4GB or 250GB pack (16MB or 4GBnand), we can also see some solder on the pins used to dump 4GB console’s nand but no info if the guy succeeded to dump it … more info soon.

[source: carranzafp @ 360nandflasher.com] After days of discussion on the dayton360mods forums, we have pasted all the relevant information and developed a set of software tools (sdtool) that will allow you to boot RGH2 on your Corona 4G board today!! The tools will make the process very simple and you dont have to mess with Winhex nor nandpro nor ecc data conversion, the sdtools does it all. Please note we are not taking credit for the procedure, we only take the steps and make software tools to make it easy and clear (at least is what we think).

[source: Matrix Team @ infinitymod.com] Well, since production of the new reader is about to start we might as well announce it: Matrix Glitcher V2 Rev.C officially supports Corona V2. A new Nand reader/writer had to be developed to interface to the 4GB Corona motherboard due to the new phison chip and the differences in the communication protocol. Installation difficulty is about the same as the old Nand SPI reader (even though the pads are slightly closer together, installers will have the choice to use a quick solder board or directly solder wires to the motherboard). One small note regarding nand dumps: V2 nand dumps don't have ECC bytes (this is by design, since they are stripped by the phison controller which also takes care of blocks remapping and a bunch of other stuff), so scripts that expect them to be present might need to be modified (either that or they need to be added after the nand has been dumped). The final nand reader software will automatically add/remove ECC bytes to the nand image as to try to preserve compatibility with existing software as much as possible.

[source: Matrix Team @ infinitymod.com] Before we begin, some notes regarding the 16D5S drives and why we made the choices that we made: First of all, the SPI eeprom is locked just like in the old drives and the WP pad is connected to GND, thus making it impossible to erase/rewrite. Why the old Geremia/kamikaze style method is not feasible in the 16D5S drives: The area were the WP wire can be cut is less than 1mm in length and the WP bonding wire runs parallel to the DO bonding wire with around 0.1mm of separation between them. Cutting the WP wire without damaging the DO wire is doable when the chip is decapped and under a good microscope but we can't see any way where someone can do this without some serious lab instruments. For these reasons we have developed a replacement PCB, similar to our previous Freedom replacement PCB but with some additional hardware needed to cope with the enhanced crypto requirements in the 16D5S firmware. This PCB will replace the original drive PCB and work on any unmodded Xbox360 (including the 4GB V2 coronas and those with dashboard 15572+ ). The firmware is finished and stable and has all the features you would expect: Stealth, XGD3, all titles work (basically everything iXtreme 3.0 has) plus some additional features that we are testing and considering for inclusion in the final release.

[source: Matrix Team @ infinitymod.com] As a first official announcement after the video showing our proprietary CFW running back-ups on the 1175 drive leaked, we have the following to say:
1) The aforementioned video is a POC (Proof of Concept), which should not be disclosed to the general public. This video is REAL.
2) Our CFW is currently fully working, is "stealth" on Live, and has all the features of Ixtreme plus some more goodies regarding AP25 sector management.
Since the video has been leaked, we might consider it "official" now. We are now going to make another one, more detailed, in order to clear up any doubts. Stay tuned!

As with the previous version the Matrix GLitcher II is still a complete plug and play solution. No need to program it before use, simply install it and select the correct switch combination for your console. Additionally, because we discovered that Glitching the Corona needs the timing to be extremely precise, we also added a new configuration procedure using the onboard switches. User installing the Matrix Glitcher II Revision C into a Corona will now have the possibility to test different timings to find the one that will give them the best Glitch times on the console, and all of this without need of reprogramming.
