New in this rel: Totaly re-done to read security sector from image, will now work with all games and xbox live. Security sector moved to image. Security sector now read from PSN $fd021e (originals) AND PSN $f9fa00 (backups. This is the next sector after end of xbox game data.). Patched read sector routine to work with originals and backups. Patched debug cdb command (FF 66 05 or FF 06 05) for bank 0 rom checksum check to return original bank 0 rom checksum. Possible xbox live checker. Cromwell v2.30 BIOS
Description: The Linux/GNU BIOS for XBOX. The file is a gzip'ed unix tar. New in this rel: This release fixes two bugs with USB initialization that sometimes cause the Linux kernel to fail to use any USB devices. It also makes usage of USB devices in xromwell more reliable. Furthermore Etherboot has been integrated into Cromwell (http://etherboot.sf.net). Etherboot allows you to boot a Linux kernel via network without accessing the harddisk (handy for building remote-administrated linux clusters). It's also possible to boot another cromwell image (handy for debugging). To use it, chose the "Bios" icon in Cromwell (volunteers for a new icon design welcome). Documentation is available from the etherboot website, http://etherboot.sf.net. Questions and bugreports should be directed to xbox-linux. There's a known bug that causes Cromwell to hang or fail to boot the kernel when too many USB devices are connected. The bug is present in all Cromwell versions with USB support, including 2.30. As a workaround you should connect additional USB devices after booting the kernel.

Cromwell with sparkle v1.1
Description: A new version of Cromwell and Xromwell with direct boot to Sparkle. You no longer need to burn Sparkle to a CD, you simply place two files (sparkle and sprkrd.gz) into E: along with an updated linuxboot.cfg (or you can let xbvset update it for you, this is why I've been bugging you to run magic!). There is a third icon now which is labelled "Sparkle", click this and your filesystems will be checked and fixed (hopefully, at least). This is a much needed update to *romwell and Sparkle. I have heavily modified this *romwell to make it as easy as possible to use. There is better feedback to let the user know exactly what is happening without overloading the user with too much detail. This will be included as standard in the next version of Gentoox. Features: USB hang bug fix. Integration with Sparkle. Video encoding changed for Conexant (Richer colours). Completely changed verbosity and boot messages.

Description: We created a hacked bios with the latest media flag patch for our own use some time ago as we haven't been happy with the stability of the current X2 bioses of late, and since oz_paulb's LBA48 bios hack (for hard disks over 137Gb support) has been made available we decided to incorporate that into our own bios and release it for public use. We did not add IGR into the bios as we think that this is much better left to the dashboards to handle as we have seen too many problems of late with bios-embedded IGR. This bios boots to evoxdash.xbe followed by xboxdash.xbe. 0902 Release Notes: We sorted out a problem with some big hard disks including some Western Digitals! Evox M8 BIOS LBA48 Popular

Description: M8 BIOS pre-patched with LBA48 and IGR. Although I didn't have any problems with the Evox dash IGR turned on, it would probably be a good idea to turn it off if you use M8 with IGR. Archive includes four bios versions, two for xbox 1.6 and two for xbox 1.0 - 1.5. The 'C' versions features compatible IGR method while 'Q' versions use quick IGR method. These are all LBA48 "06" versions, if you need "67" versions edit them using EVtool.

This release fixes issues with RAM timing not being loaded properly. It also applies to XBOX 1.0->1.5 even though no problems have been observed yet. We are also releasing a small config tool for your convenience. Now you can preconfigure your BIOS anyway you like it. Please note that every BIOS requires a special .dat file to be located in Settings folder. Currently EvoX X-Chip BIOS 1.2 and 1.3 are supported.

FlashBIOS v2.6 BETA
Description: FlashBIOS v2.6 is a customized version of the Cromwell bios for distribution with the Xecuter2 modchip, it has been changed to incorporate a modchip flashing feature that requires a CD with BIOS.BIN to be inserted in the XBOX's DVD-ROM drive. Frostys v1.0 5101 BIOS
Description: Frosty's v1.0 5101 - 5101 BIOS for v1.0 XBOX Consoles. This BIOS is ONLY for v1.0 XBOXes. DO NOT USE ON v1.1-v1.6 CONSOLES! This BIOS was created so that v1.0 XBOX owners could utilize the updated GPU code that resides within all kernels above 5101. The original v1.0 BIOSes (3944 and 4034) had some bugs in the GPU code that would occasionally cause strange texture errors in some games such as Halo 2 (Flickering walls, and some lighting issues.), and these bugs were corrected by Microsoft in kernels 5101 and above. Using this BIOS on a v1.0 console will allow your v1.0 XBOX to utilize the new GPU code, and therefore the GPU bugs will be resolved. This BIOS contains a completely original, uneditted 5101 kernel, and a v1.0 bootloader so that the 5101 kernel is able to boot properly on v1.0 XBOXes. It has been extensively tested on v1.0 EEPROMs/TSOPs and is also fully compatible with PAL/NTSC/JAP regions.
