Stuff that I have about 17 years experience in the electronics repair trade and I use the method of freezing then heating the resin... after a few rounds of this the epoxy goes like silicon which can be esily picked out.

Switch - Looks good Damn Lucky the AV connector fits cause I didn't measure it
Fitted a SST39SF040 so I can have dual bios on 1 chip and just switch on pin1 (upper and lower addressing) mmmm seen this somewhere before lol
For the hitachi, you'd need to solder a switch between Pin 8 (Vdd (+5V)), and Pin 9 (A18) to switch between the two banks.
