At their E3 presentation on 14 June 2010, Microsoft announced a redesigned Xbox 360 that will ship on the same day.
The new model is smaller and quieter than the previous versions. Based around an integrated CPU/GPU chip using 45nm fabrication process and redesigned internal architecture, it includes a 250 GB HDD, 5 USB ports (2 more), a custom 'Kinect' port and has built-in Wireless N, in addition to all the existing Xbox 360 features.
However, it lacks Xbox 360 Memory Unit slots. The power and DVD drive eject 'buttons' are touch sensitive, and the 250GB internal harddrive is swappable though not compatible with other models of Xbox 360.
The new model was shipped to US retailers the same day and will go on sale later in the week. In Europe, it will be released on July 16, 2010.[38] The new model is $299.99 USD or £199 GBP.
